Summertime Angst

When the kids are out of school there's less time for keeping up with politics and news. However, there's nothing more important than staying in tune with the world around us. It just has to happen quickly - in between running back and forth to the fridge for juice boxes and popsicles.

Just a few things that have happened this week:

Looks like our government and BP have been putting our beaches at risk for years now. I guess since the government folks haven't been enforcing the rules and BP hasn't been following them, we can assign equal blame to all of them. And lets spread it to ALL of them. All the way back to Clinton, evidently. Plenty of ignoring the rules to go around. And before you decide to let the current administration totally off the hook, remember they've been there 18 months running the same scam. Giving out safety awards to BP. Um, yeah.

We're less safe EVERY FREAKING DAY.Won't matter how much oil leaks into our oceans if we just sit by like a bunch of pussies talking about how much we want everyone to like us and how we'll get rid of OUR nuclear weapons and then you'll get rid of yours, right? Only NO. Crazy people see that as a great opportunity to take advantage of idiots. Which seems to describe our current foreign policies with WACKOS. Won't you like us if we're nice to you and pretend you're not NUTS? Um . . . no they won't.

And the Democrats in South Carolina got exactly what they voted for. What a riot. Good thing they didn't overturn their OWN election results. Can you imagine the power they'd feel come November if they could make the argument their voters were too stupid to know who they voted for? No election would ever be safe. Not that they are now. Voter fraud is pretty much a given at this point. I'm pretty sure once the country is completely ignoring the fact that Black Panthers are threatening voters with clubs, it's all downhill from here.

Just a little news perusal fun for your summer enjoyment. We're still going to hell in a hand basket. But at least while it's happening the kids are home and I'm sitting at the beach getting a tan. For now, I'm expecting the oil to join me soon and I'm guessing it won't be so fun after that.
